David Ing comes to federated wiki through an interest in a collaborative platform on which communities might advance generative pattern languages. Since 2014, he has participated in meetings of PLoP (Pattern Languages of Programming]; PURPLSOC (Pursuit of Pattern Languages for Social Change); and PUARL (Portland Urban Architecture Research Lab).
David started a Systems Changes research project in late 2018. This follows from Service Systems Thinking started in 2014. In 2017/2018, David published *Open Innovation Learning: Theory building on open sourcing while private sourcing* as an open access book , based on doctoral studies at the Aalto University.
David is a past-president (2011-2012) of the International Society for the Systems Sciences . He is an alumnus of IBM after 28 years of service, including assignments in management consulting, industry solutions and market development. Formal studies include a Ph.D. in progress in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University (Finland); a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (USA); and a Bachelor of Commerce from Trinity College at the University of Toronto (Canada). He is honoured that others have written a biography on Wikipedia . Since 1984, David has been a resident of Toronto, Canada.
